INFORMATION

The rules for determining the significant figures are listed below.

• All non-zero digits are significant. (e.g. 3 and 4 in 3004)
• Zeros between non-zero digits are significant. (e.g. 0s in 3004)
• Leading zeros are not significant. (e.g. 0s in 0.04)
• In numbers without a decimal point, trailing zeros are not significant. (e.g. 0s in 3400)
• In numbers containing a decimal point, trailing zeros are significant. (e.g. 0s in 34.00)
