INFORMATION

In signed subtraction, we take the 2's complement of the subtrahend and add it to the minuend.

• If the sum and addends have the same number of bits, the result is equal to the sum.
• If we obtain an extra carry bit in the MSB of the sum, we discard it. The remaining part gives us the result.
