INFORMATION

Cotangent is one of the most fundamental trigonometric functions. For a real angle between 0 and 90 degrees, the cotangent of the angle is the ratio of the length of the adjacent side to the opposite side in a right triangle. Cotangent is equal to the multiplicative reciprocal of the tangent. It is undefined for angles that are multiples of 180 degrees.

The above calculator computes the cotangent value of an angle given in degrees or radians. Additionally, it draws graphs representing the cotangent value of the angle. For angles between 0 and 90 degrees, it shows the cotangent value on a right triangle; for values between -1000 and +1000 degrees, it displays the cotangent value on the coordinate system; and for all angles, it represents the cotangent value on the unit circle.
