INFORMATION

The value of the thousandths digit determines the direction of rounding. If the thousandths digit is less than 5 (0, 1, 2, 3, or 4), the number is rounded down; if it is 5 or greater (5, 6, 7, 8, or 9), the number is rounded up.

In rounding down, all digits to the right of the hundredths digit are set to zero.

In rounding up, additionally, 0.01 is added to that number.
